I try to be fair and over all the food was good not the best I have ever ate however being out in the middle of know where it is what it is. We have stopped several times coming from Lufkin to Canton for work and we have had the brisket sandwich that was pretty good that is 4 stars. We had some of the bratwurst sausage and it is way over priced for what you get. The turkey sandwich was good no issues. The people who work at All Star Bar-B-Q in Rusk Tx act like they work in a factory and have no experience in working with the public in general. Not friendly, a bit rude, not helpful at all and could care less if you have questions or issues. FOOD IS TO EXPENSIVE EVERYWHERE however we like to eat out alot and when you spend 30-50 bucks for a meal for 2 people you expect to get decent service and maybe a smile for your money lol We will not be back we gave it a try 5 times in the past 6 months and we will look on down the road for another friendlier place

First, the service was not bad. It was just the middle of the road. The food was great. I had sliced beef and sausage with potato salad and coleslaw slaw. Price is about what you'd expect for a BBQ joint in this day and age. I can recommend them and would gladly eat there again.

If you are starving and need barbecue.... It will do. But overall not a recommended place. It has nice people but is a result of few choices in the region. I ordered a 1/4 lb sliced brisket and hotlink. Not quite sure that the brisket actually would have been 1/4 lb. The brisket was mediocre quality and not very moist. The hot link was decent. Two slices of cheese and a soft drink and it was over $20. The cheddar slices were actually very good. Seems a bit expensive for the provided seating and lack of atmosphere or amenities. The restroom is one you'll have to walk outside and around the building to get into from the outside. Seems to be a classic case of overpriced Texas barbecue that doesn't live up to its pricing. If you can wait... I'd recommend driving to Tyler or Jacksonville to have more choices .

Welcome to All Star Bar-B-Q, a culinary haven nestled in the heart of Rusk, Texas, at 267 Dickinson Dr. If you're driving from Lufkin to Canton and find your appetite calling, this spot may be worth a stop. Though surrounded by the tranquility of the East Texas landscape, opinions about this barbecue joint tend to vary widely.

All Star Bar-B-Q prides itself on serving classic Texas barbecue, and while the location offers the expected charm of a local eatery, it's the food that takes center stage. Customer reviews reveal a mixed bag of experiences. For instance, patrons rave about the brisket sandwich, noting its quality as commendable, earning a solid four stars from at least one visitor. Other favorites include the sliced beef and sausage, paired with hearty sides like potato salad and coleslaw, offering a satisfying meal reminiscent of backyard barbecues.

However, it's essential to be aware of some critical feedback, particularly concerning price points and service quality. Some diners have remarked on what they perceive as overpriced menu items for the value received, especially the bratwurst sausage. While the flavors may be on point, the overall dining experience can feel lacking due to inconsistent customer service described by previous guests. The atmosphere has been characterized as somewhat utilitarian, which does not add to the welcoming vibe often sought in a barbecue joint.

In light of these nuances, dining at All Star Bar-B-Q may appeal to those with a craving for traditional barbecue who are willing to overlook minor inconveniences. While it may not be the definitive barbecue destination, it offers a decent pit stop for travelers on the go. So if you're in the area and find your stomach grumbling, consider swinging by for a classic plate of grilled goodness. Who knows? You might just find your perfect barbecue fix here.
